Kyoto Tachibana High School Band one of the most acclaimed marching and brass band in Japan. You need to see their precision marching unit and hear their impeccable musicianship to truly appreciate them. There’s 105 students (99 girls and 6 boys). It’s their 7th Kauai Tour since 1998 and have helped to raise more than $18,000 for Kauai High School and Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School bands.

Note: Kyoto Tachibana High School is a private school and was an all –girl institution until it became a co-ed school about 12 years ago.

During his Sister City Mission to Japan last November, Mayor Carvalho visited Kyoto Tachibana High School to meet with their head master and band director, Mr. Hiroyuki Tanaka (man in the photo with glasses) to invite the band back to Kauai in 2016.
