Kaplan Bunce is an artist, woodworker, and community leader whose creative practice bridges Indigenous heritage and contemporary expression. Of Apache ancestry and longtime resident of Kaua‘i, Kaplan began his work as a carpenter, evolving into a multidisciplinary artist known for murals, sculpture, and public art that celebrate cultural identity, connection, and place. A past president of the Kaua‘i Powwow Council, he continues to uplift Native traditions and community collaboration through art. As a member of the Garden Island Arts Council Board of Directors, Kaplan brings a deep commitment to creativity, cultural education, and the power of art to unite and inspire the Kaua‘i community.
