The BBB program was introduced by GIAC in 2021 as a secondary initiative that grew out of GIAC’s Kaua‘i Crafts Studio program. It is composed of a small, dedicated group of 7-12 participants who meet weekly at the Art Pod, a studio located at Carol Yotsuda’s home in Niumalu.
BBB has become a popular feature at several local events where it showcases and sells its handmade creations, such as the Puhi Farmers Market Craft Fair, Matsuri Festival, and E Kanikapila Kākou. Proceeds from these sales fund community art initiatives supported by GIAC and enable the arts council to continue its mission of fostering creativity and art access throughout the local community. To date, GIAC has raised over $50,000 from BBB sales.
