Vision

our story

The Garden Island Arts Council (GIAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Kaua‘i through the arts. Established in 1977 to encourage greater public participation in and appreciation of the visual, performing, and cultural arts, GIAC promotes understanding, enjoyment, and awareness of the value of creativity in daily life.

Guided by an all-volunteer board of directors, the Council produces a year-round program of arts and cultural activities for both residents and visitors. Through partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions, GIAC also works toward establishing a permanent home for arts, education, and technology—a space where collaboration can flourish and contribute to the island’s cultural vitality and economic strength.
